Duties of the County Court Clerk
A Job Built on Accuracy, Service and Trust
The Clerk of the Circuit Courts plays a vital role in Delaware County by maintaining official court records, processing filings and court documents, and ensuring records are accurate and accessible. The Clerk also serves on the Election Board and helps certify election results.
This office impacts everyday life — from court cases and child support payments to marriage licenses and certified documents.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Collecting filing fees, fines, and court costs
- Processing and distributing child support payments
- Maintaining judgment records and orders
- Processing marriage applications and issuing marriage licenses
- Filing and processing new cases (Civil, Criminal, Family Relations, Probate, and Small Claims)
- Issuing court documents (warrants, commitments, releases, protective orders, service of process, and writs)
- Maintaining and preserving court records, including microfilming
- Preparing certified copies of court documents
